Chicago City Hall CityHall

Description
A massive 11-story structure of pillars and stone, located just behind the famed Chicago skyline. The building represents the power of the city, and the nation.

In the entrance hall, a few men stand around, either conversing or watching the doors, most of them being handlers, whose purpose is to meet and sort diplomats.

In their respective offices sit Jim Walker, and Cameron Morgan.

A rented motorcade bearing an Usonian Diplomat and his entourage arrive at the Hall, and tentatively proceed in, looking for anyone to greet, challenge or guide them.

The Usonians are approached by a handler. "Welcome to Chicago. May I incline as to what your business is here today?"

The entourage departs to resolve affairs. The diplomat responds "To be blunt, there is to much potential in this region to allow it to remain unrefined. That is why we would like to develop a League with Chicago and Superior. To that end, we would also like to discuss the possibility of accommodations for a permanent diplomatic establishment within or close to the city."

The handler nods. "Follow me please."

The Usonians are taken to the sixth floor. The handler opens a door into an office. There is a man sitting at a large, oaken desk, cluttered with holocards, while the man himself stares at a holographic computer screen. A projection on his desk reads "Jim Walker".

He looks up to see the handler and his "guest" standing at in his doorway. "Come on in," he tries to conceal his excitement of receiving the first foreign dignitaries ever to arrive in his new nation.

As the diplomat enters, he brings the group to the same page, "As I'm sure you've been told, those in power in Michigami are excited by the potential in this region. In order to ensure that this potential is harnessed constructively and not wasted against itself, we are attempting to build a coalition of the Union of Chicago land, Superior, and Usonia. WE are additonally seeking to establish permanent diplomatic residence where our neighbors will allow. We can work out the details, but is this big picture agreeable?"

Jim nods his head. "That seems reasonable enough. I'll have to send a request to President Daley, and Superior will have to come down to make the request formally, but other than that it's all but done."

After the Usonians are lead out of his office, Walker sends the e-mail to Daley requesting the league. All that is needed is the official recognition by the government of Superior.

As they are being ushered out of the office, one of the diplomats tries to ask "and what is your position on our establishing an embassy?"

"Second floor, any room you want." Jim replies simply, before going back to work.

A diplomatic envoy arrives in Chicago. Through a boring legal process, he basically offers that Usonia make diplomatic advance towards Chicagoland's niehbors on it's(UCL) behalf. The reasoning stated is that Usonia wants it's militarily competent GLC ally and would-be protector to be strong.

The Nationally United Confederate army is interested in forming a trade agreement between our nations. It will provide mutual economic benefit for our people, our businesses, and even our governments. If a physical meeting of diplomats is necessary, you are invited to visit the Confederate Embassy; unfortunately, we are unable to send a diplomat with the power to form agreements to any other nation at this time.
