I move my ground forces along the coast until the Subay tribe is in site and have them hold for now. I have my carrier station itself out of artillery range and ready the strike fighters for take off.

What strike fighters? You've never said anything about strike fighters.

They were on the carrier that got sent over there...

You have to tell me this stuff. You can't just assume it is true.
I'll be nice and edit it in since this is vs. an independent, but if this was a player vs. player battle, you'd have no planes on that carrier.

Alright. I just assumed that they would be on since that's how it's described in the nation thread. There's also 4 normal fighters on it. but I don't think those will be important.

Gibraltar ground forces advance on Subay settlement. They are spotted by patrolling cavalry when they are close.

Carrier prepares strike fighters for ground attack.

Reinforcements have arrived for Gibraltar from West Africa 06. (Host controlled)

Sahara Confederacy Forces
8 Bombers (Non-lethal Ordinance)
4 Fighters
10 Attack Helicopters (Mixed Ordinance)

Sahara air forces move toward Subay tribe.

Should say Tim's. I must not have been 100% there when I wrote the thread.

All infantry(And strike fighters if possible) are ordered to arm themselves with non-lethal weaponry. Hold position on a vantage point outside the Subay tribe to watch for their response.

Militia cavalry returns to Subay Tribe settlement. Subay military mobilizes quickly. They send out word to their allies, Harb and Al Jalahma, who begin to mobilize.

Sahara Air Force is closer, still on the way.

Order my infantry to move advance and start to surround the village. Have the Militia infantry headed for the opposite side of the village use the APCs for speed. Have the strike fighters take off and do a low altitude flyover of the village as I deliver one final message.

"Deliver those responsible for the attack, and there need not be any violence. you have 10 minutes to decide."

Gibralterian ground forces move to surround Subay settlement, but Subay Tribe launches a frontal attack against the advancing Gibralter forces before they can get into position. Action! WAHAHAHAAHAH!

Gibralter forces in a C pattern being pushed in the center by Subay. Artillery fires into Gibralter center. Everything else charges and fires. Gibralter center is under fire from artillery but stands and prepares for assault and returns fire, but takes casualties. Branches are moving and confused.
(Lost 1 Militia Infantry. Destroyed 1 Militia Infantry.)

Gibratler Strike Fighters fly over Subay and broadcast message. No one cares. They turn back and are ready to attack ground if they so choose.

Sahara air forces in position to attack.

Subay's ally tribes on their way to help Subay.

Have two of the strike fighters try to take out the artillery. Have on of the others try to disrupt the movements of the Harb tribe. The fourth one is to hold position over the battle field. Those taht attacked should head back to the carrier for rearming and refuelling.

Send a message to the Saharan Forces requesting that they hold off the Al Jalahma tribe.

Infantry are to hold position and fire back at the enemy forces, heaviest priority on the cavalry.

Gibralter strike fighters do stuff. Two attempt to drop non-explosive weighted bombs onto the Subay towed artillery. Two weapons are crushed or heavily damaged by direct hits. (Destroyed 2/5th Towed Gun Artillery.)

Sahara's air forces engage the primarily vehicular and foot-mobile Al Jalahma forces. They use electromagnetic weapons and tear gas to disrupt the vehicles and disperse the infantry.

Gibraltar ground forces fire at Subay with their non-lethal weaponry. Subay mix between charging while firing, and engaging normally.
Non-lethal weapons are largely ineffective against Subay vehicles.
(Lost 5 Militia Infantry. Routed [Subay] 1 Militia Infantry , 1 Militia Cavalry.)

Subay remaining ground:
1 Militia Infantry
2 Militia Cavalry
2 Militia Technicals
1 Scout (MG)
3/5th Towed Gun Artillery
3 Trucks

Gibraltar remaining ground:
10 Militia infantry
1 Missile Infantry
1 Medic
2 APCs

the strike fighter vs. Harb didn't accomplish anything

All soldiers are to switch to lethal force immediately. Teh remainging strike fighter is to drop on the artillery and return to the carrier to rearm. All strike fighters are to be armed with ground attack explosives. Fully lethal.

tiny tim

I'll ask sahara to go after the Harb tribe then. I will also notify them that my troops have been authorized to use lethal force.

"This is Sahara Squadron Leader, switch to lethal weapons noted. We will remain non-lethal."

One Gibr. StrikeFighter drops cement bombs on Subay artillery before returning to carrier. Other 3 StrikeFighters are on the way back from carrier.
(Destroyed 1/5th Towed Gun Artillery.)

Gibraltar ground forces switch to lethal weapons and engage Subay. Both sides have closed very close to each other and confused after Subay charge. Subay Artillery fires into battle indiscriminately.

Gibraltar missile infantry target Subay vehicles, but there are few missile soldiers.
(Destroyed 1 Militia Infantry, 2 Militia Cavalry, 1 Militia Technical, 2 Trucks. Lost 8 Militia Infantry.)

Subay remaining ground:
1 Militia Technicals
1 Scout (MG)
2/5th Towed Gun Artillery
1 Trucks

Gibraltar remaining ground:
2 Militia infantry
1 Missile Infantry
1 Medic
2 APCs

Saharan air forces drop non-lethal ordinance on the Harb forces. This attack disables Harb trucks and infantry. Harb Cavalry continues moving toward Subay.

All of my ground forces are ordered to retreat from explosion range of bombers, then continue fighting. 1 Strike Fighter is ordered to attack the artillery, and the other two are ordered to attack the Subay ground troops, once my troops are out of the blast range.

Instruct Saharan forces to attack any enemies at will, so long as they don't hit my troops.

Gibraltar ground forces attempt to detach from the Subay, but their attack is relentless, and the tribesmen seek to always close the gap and force CQC with everything.
3 Gibraltar StrikeFighters arrive and make the decision to drop their ordinance near the rear of the Subay, fewer kills, but also limited friendly losses.
On the ground, Subay fight on, apparently counting on their allies to arrive and relieve them.
(Destroyed 4/5 Militia Technical, 2/5 Scout (MG), 2/5th Towed Gun Artillery. Lost 1 Militia Infantry.)

Sahara planes on their way.

Subay remaining ground:
1/5 Militia Technicals
3/5 Scout (MG)
1 Trucks

Gibraltar remaining ground:
1 Militia infantry
1 Missile Infantry
1 Medic
2 APCs

Troops are to re-engage, militia infantry throwing grenades at the technicals and missile infantry firing at the scouts. I should have been doing this all along, but I want the medics to limit our casualties. APCs should move to screen infantry from small arms fire.

BBJynne

BBJynne

I'm gonna be nice and pretend you told the APCs not to do that, but instead to kill things.
Missiles and heavy machine guns make short work of the remaining Subay forces.
There are no more Gibraltar casualties.
Saharan Air is orbiting.

Subay remaining ground:
Some units that routed earlier meet up with their allies.

Gibraltar remaining ground:
1 Militia infantry
1 Missile Infantry
1 Medic
2 APCs

I'm going to withdraw my forces and have my Gauss tanks at the border fire at any enemies moving too close.
